Buddhinagari

A proposed universal Indian Script Design

Buddhinagari (of the City of Intellect, cf. Devanagari, of the City of Gods, which is the most widely used Indic script today)

This project is about the development of a new script suitable for most languages of North and South India. It is easy to learn because the design of the letters follows logic rules.

It’s furthermore an experiment how a script can be constructed on a purely logical basis with letters formed on modular principles, at the same time featuring certain characteristics like readability, optical harmony, contrast, and a distinct Indian look.

In that regard the current design is still in a very early trial stage and has a lot of progress ahead. In the end it may turn out to look completely different from the status quo, despite being designed according to exactly the same rules.
